What is the difference between first and standard class on a train?
The seats in First Class have more space, extra leg room and are generally wider than Standard Class seats. The carriages are quieter, calmer and generally more comfortable than Standard Class.
What is the difference between standard and first class train tickets?
First Class train tickets are a fast pass to the best seats on the train! For example, an Off-Peak First Class journey may be cheaper than travelling in Standard during Peak times.
Can you sit in standard class with a first class ticket?

What trains are Azuma?
Azuma is the name for a new fleet of diesel-electric hybrid trains run by London North East Railway (LNER) which formally entered commercial service on 15 May 2019. Azuma trains run on the East Coast route from London King’s Cross to the North East of England and to Aberdeen and Inverness in Scotland.
