Walkthrough
- Go to the area marked on your map.
- At the sourthern most point of the waypoint circle when facing north follow around the right hand curve of the circle.
- After a short ditstance there will be a staircase on your left (when facing north) the X is under this staircase.
- Dig at the X.
Where is the hidden treasure in the Rustyards?
The treasure is on the north side of the circle on the mini map, under a wooden framework, next to a stairway, and is marked by a black X on the ground. It can be seen from the cliff edge, looking in towards the scrap yard.

- Follow the marker — you will notice that it may be floating in no-man’s land on your map.
- Kill the large Sand Worms.
- Time to dig up the treasure.
- The mission is completed once you turn it in to the “Wurmater Treasure Chest” you just unearthed.
How do I get to the Rustyards in Borderlands 2?
Head to Sandman’s Overlook by taking the lift in the central part of the cave and clear out the enemies until the Deckhand shows up. Once he does, kill him and you will then be off to find Toothless Terry. Once you reach Wurmwater go east to the Rustyard Corridor and then enter the Rustyards at the far rear.

The bottle is beside the wreck. From the top of Magnys Tower, one window to the right of the southern chest, a railing can be jumped on, just to the left side of the fence. This offers a view down to a pillar of stone with grass on the top, and there will be the X.

The mission is obtained by interacting with a bottle located in a palm tree overhanging a cliff when first entering Wurmwater from Oasis. The mission objective can be found west of a pirate encampment named Hegeland Camp east of where the bottle is located (see image).
Is Treasure of the Sands repeatable?
The Treasure of the Sands mission becomes available from the Oasis Bounty Board after completing the X Marks the Spot mission. It is essentially a repeat of that mission, allowing you to fight the Leviathan again and recieve more loot.
