What do fourth graders learn in Texas?
Students will effectively communicate mathematical ideas, reasoning, and their implications using multiple representations such as symbols, diagrams, graphs, computer programs, and language. Students will use mathematical relationships to generate solutions and make connections and predictions.
Social studies in the 4th grade encourages students to deepen their reading, writing, and analytical skills, as well as expand knowledge and appreciation of their own local and American history. Students compare different perspectives using both primary and secondary texts.
When did Social Studies TEKS change?
The streamlined social studies TEKS for middle school and high school became effective on August 1, 2019, and will be implemented in classrooms beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.
