Is the Usnscc military?
The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC or NSCC) is a congressionally-chartered, U.S. Navy sponsored organization that serves to teach individuals about the sea-going military services, U.S. naval operations and training, community service, citizenship, and an understanding of discipline and teamwork.
Can you join Sea Cadets at 15?
When can you join? You can join as a Junior Cadet when you are 10, and enjoy summer camps and making new friends as you head towards becoming a Sea Cadet at 12, or Royal Marines Cadet at 13.
What are the ranks in Sea Cadets?
The rank system for cadets is as follows: Seaman Recruit (E-1), Seaman Apprentice (E-2), Seaman (E-3), Petty Officer Third Class (PO3), Petty Officer Second Class (PO2), Petty Officer First Class (PO1) and Chief Petty Officer (CPO). Promotions are made by time–in-rate requirement and passing of examinations.
How long is Sea cadet boot camp?
Cadets spend nine days or two weeks learning basic Navy subjects, elementary seamanship, basic damage control, and quarter’s maintenance. Additionally, cadets participate in physical fitness training, drill basics, and following orders.
What are naval cadets called?

All Naval Academy students, men and women, are called midshipmen. A midshipman first class is a senior or “firstie.” The student body is the Brigade of Midshipmen, or simply ‘the Brigade,’ and the naval service often is called ‘the Fleet.

What qualifications can you get in Sea Cadets?
As a Sea Cadet you can choose to work towards a BTEC in Teamwork and Personal Skills or Music as part of your normal Sea Cadet activities. This is a nationally recognised qualification which is equivalent to four GCSEs at grade C (four standard grades at level 3 in Scotland).
